For T-Mobile international the application of capable data processing systems is strategically very important. Their worldwide success is based on the
quality of their products and services, which in turn are based on the quality of their data processing systems.
Due to the number and complexity of their IT systems, the need to automate tests is growing constantly, as is the need to implement economic solutions.
That means: introducing new tools, which assure the demanding management goals are met, while being cost effective at the same time.
Andagon was tasked to design and implement that test automation framework.
The demand: On the one hand day to day issues of quality management needed to be addressed including - maintenance, usability, reusability and transparency to the extent that external experts were not depended on. On the other hand the framework was to offer complete connectability to all systems under test within a heterogeneous system environment and be able to support complex automated end-to-end tests.
Andagon has made a good job of it: the andagon test automation framework has been so successful at headquarters in Bonn, that an international roll-out was conducted to the Netherlands, Austria, England and the Czech Republic in 2007. T-Mobile plans to use quality as a strategy to continue its market lead.
